Eligibility: The contest is open to all individuals who are the current or former owner of a registered Thoroughbred mare, either currently owned or owned at the time of the horse's death. Participants younger than 18 years old must have written permission from a parent or legal guardian, and all participants must comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Entry Submission: To enter the contest, participants must follow these steps:
Complete the entry form found at www.Mareworthy.com/stakes between August 26, 2024, and September 6, 2024.
Submit a high-resolution photograph in landscape orientation of your registered Thoroughbred mare as part of the registration.
Each mare may have only one photo submission. Multiple mares from the same owner are allowed, but each must be entered separately with a unique photograph.
Callout: Entering more than one of your mares could split your votes and jeopardize your chances of making it into the Top 20. Consider this carefully when deciding how many entries to submit.
Once your photo entry is approved, you will receive a confirmation email with further instructions.
Earning Points:
Round 1 - Public Voting and Fun Activities (September 7, 2024 - September 20, 2024)
During Round 1, participants can earn points through:
Public Votes: Each vote from the public will earn one (1) point. Votes are free and limited to one per day per IP address. Share your mare's photo entry widely to maximize votes.
Fun Activities: Bonus points will be awarded for completing fun activities announced on the Mareworthy Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mareworthy. Be sure to check the page daily.
The top 20 entrants with the highest total points by 11:59pm EST on September 20, 2024, will advance to Round 2.
Round 2 - Fundraising and Fun Activities (September 21, 2024 - September 30, 2024)
Only the top 20 entrants from Round 1 will participate in Round 2. Points in Round 2 can be earned through:
Fundraising: Each dollar (USD) raised through your personal fundraising page will earn one (1) point, and each unique donor (supporter) will earn ten (10) points. Fundraising pages will only be assigned to those who reach the Top 20.
Fun Activities: Additional points can be earned by completing designated fun activities announced on the Mareworthy Facebook page and emailed to participants.
The combined points from fundraising and fun activities in Round 2 will determine the final rankings for prizes.
Ownership and Rights: By entering the contest, participants warrant that they are the rightful owners of the submitted photograph and have all necessary permissions and rights to use the image. Participants grant Mareworthy Charities a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use and publish the submitted photographs for promotional and fundraising purposes.
Verification: For the top 20 entrants, details of ownership and verification of the horse being a registered Thoroughbred mare will be verified. Entrants may be required to provide additional documentation or information to confirm eligibility.
