What is Mareworthy Charities?
Mareworthy Charities exists to develop and manage programs that ensure all Thoroughbred mares whose racing and breeding careers have ended are tracked and provided with care that protects them from suffering and cruelty. We focus on placement and sanctuary for retired Thoroughbred broodmares.
We rely on donations, merchandise sales, and any other creative ways we can support the horses we love. Your donation, no matter the size, truly makes a difference!

Vee's Filly Has a Name!
Thank you to everyone who submitted a name and donated for their favorite names in the contest to name Vee's filly! Congratulations to Barbara Dimmitt for submitting the winning name: Stowaway Lass. Such a fitting name since Vee came from the kill pen pregnant, and we didn't know it at first.
The naming contest raised $1,130, and $425 of that went to Stowaway Lass from 9 supporters. Volana and Bree's Destiny were 2nd and 3rd raising $250 and $180 respectively. The funds raised will go toward Vee being pampered with a massage and chiropractic adjustment plus Lass' appointment next week with the opthalmologist to learn more about the cataract in her right eye. Any additional funds will go directly toward Vee and Lass' other recent vet bills.
