My Angel Becca
Dark Bay/Brown Mare Foaled March 30, 2009
Meet My Angel Becca, a charismatic 14-year-old dark bay mare who's earned the endearing nickname "the welcoming committee" at her current farm. Like that one friend who makes everyone feel instantly at home, Angel has a special talent for helping new horses settle in, making her the unofficial social director of her herd.
This striking mare transforms through the seasons - wearing a rich, dark coat in winter that blooms into beautiful dapples come summer. A true low-maintenance lady, Becca thrives on the simple life as an easy keeper who enjoys 24/7 turnout. She's barefoot and requires only routine care for vaccinations, dental work, and trims.
By Changeintheweather out of L'esquimau, Angel had a respectable racing career, earning $25,361 in 19 starts before retiring in 2014. While she has previous experience under saddle including walk-trot-canter work and small courses, she would be best suited as a companion or pasture pet due to some training challenges that emerged in her riding career. Though thoroughly vetted with no significant findings, she developed a rearing behavior that would require an experienced horseperson to assess any future riding potential.
Currently located in Port Jervis, NY, Angel is available as a Mareworthy-managed direct placement. She's looking for a forever home where she can receive all the attention, peppermints, and scratches she deserves. Her sweet and sassy personality, combined with her natural talent for making friends, makes her an ideal addition to any herd needing a social butterfly.
